[NEWS] The CPU RACE : Go go go !

Hello everyone,

There's a brand new section in the SetiBZH stats. Its name is "CPU RACE": couldn't name it better.

So, what is it all about? As you may all know, some BOINC projects started supporting graphic cards: this litterally blew up the credit ratios and a host power made available for BOINC and grid computing in general. GPU power reaches such level that our poor CPUs now seem somewhat slow when you compare.

Nevertheless, a CPU still remains a must for any non-linear calculation depending on complex algorithms. So, in order to give back our CPUs the glory they deserve, we created a new way to count credits for projects where no GPU application is available: this is our CPU RACE. To some extend, it works like the Formula BOINC or Formula MT: "CPU RACE" resets credits every year (from January 1st to December 31st) and displays stats of all AF crunchers, but only counting "non GPU" projects credits.

It's pretty simple, see there: http://statsbzh.boinc-af.org/cpurace.php . It's brand new so some bugs might still be there. But I hope everything will be tuned-up fine for January 1st, 2010!

From now on, we'll again shoot loud "FCCPU" ! (Faites Chauffer les CPU which means Make Your CPUs Hot! FCCPU used to be used a lot by the first French crunchers on Seti Classic)

You may have noticed the SetiBZH Stats are now available in English. In addition to looking to nice graphics, now you can even read them Please tell us here if you see any typo (no, won't ban you for that )

Cheers mates.
